SafeStick Certifications
BlockMaster provides products of the highest quality, made to meet the customer's every requirement. Next to keeping data safe, the environment's safety is also something that is important to BlockMaster.
CESG Claims Tested Mark (CCTM)
SafeStick is the first secure USB flash drive to receive a CESG Claims Tested Mark (CCTM) certification. This provides a layer of trust to buyers across the public sector when handling data below the restricted level. The CCTM ensures that the claims made about the security attributes of the product are valid. "SafeStick does what is says on the box", so to speak.
FIPS 140-2 LEVEL 2 Validated
FIPS are publicly announced standards developed by the United States Federal Government for use by all non-military government agencies and by government contractors. SafeStick FIPS is FIPS 140-2 Level 2 validated.
ISO 9001:2000
BlockMaster cares a great deal about quality, so we've made sure SafeStick is manufactured according to ISO 9001:2000. ISO 9001:2000 outlines criteria for a good Quality Management System that helps our manufacturing to consistently provide a product that meets customer and applicable regulatory requirements.
RoHs
The amount of dangerous waste produced because of the manufacturing of technical products is crucial to regulate. RoHs 2002/95/EC restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment. The materials restricted are lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, and polybrominated biphenyl ether.
Weee
RoHs is closely linked with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) 2002/96/EC which sets collection, recycling and recovery targets for electrical goods and is part of a legislative initiative to solve the problem of huge amounts of toxic e-waste.
ISO 14001:2004
SafeStick is manufactured according to ISO 14001:2004, which specifies requirements for an Environmental Management System. ISO 14001:2004 applies to environmental aspects that our manufacturing identifies as those which it can control and those which it can influence.
FIPS 197
SafeStick provides automatic, full hardware encryption of all data, featuring a single on-board security chip that can’t be bypassed and encrypts all data copied to the drive with AES256 in CBC-mode. Encryption keys are generated on board at user setup, and all communications are encrypted.
The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) specifies a FIPS-approved cryptographic algorithm that can be used to protect electronic data. The AES algorithm is a symmetric block cipher that can encrypt (encipher) and decrypt (decipher) information. Encryption converts data to an unintelligible form called ciphertext; decrypting the ciphertext converts the data back into its original form, called plaintext.
The AES algorithm is capable of using cryptographic keys of 128, 192, and 256 bits to encrypt and decrypt data in blocks of 128 bits. SafeStick uses the 256 bits keys, to make sure of the highest protection possible.
